Joe_K talk Joe_K yeah swetz okie dokie swetz won't take long swetz ::smile Joe_K printed chart Joe_K ready handles umm ok sell IBM handles at 100 handles done handles see ya guys handles lol swetz lol handles Joe_K lol Joe_K Ok Swetz swetz okay we have been talking about IBM being a bearish chart Joe_K You have the floor DaveM lolooollll swetz the last few classes swetz but just wanted to mention a couple of things swetz first on the daily chart swetz IBM had 4 very narrow ranges swetz with yesterday's range being the most narrow of them all swetz when we see a cluster of very tight ranges, we can conclude 2 things swetz first, demand and supply is at equilibrium swetz second, one of them is going to get the upper hand and EOM should be expected swetz this is what we got today swetz from the larger timeframe charts, we have already observed that more the likely supply would get the upper hand swetz because of the clues we gathered last Thursday swetz so with this information what do we do with it on a practical basis swetz with me, I like to zoom in on a smaller timeframe chart swetz to see if I can identify some a Wyckoff setup to trigger a trade swetz the hourly chart of IBM is posted at Joe's site swetz for those who don't have it swetz on the hourly chart, we can identify a TR swetz you always want to try to do that when looking at a chart Kelley http://www.commoditytradingresource.com/cgi-bin/webbbs_config.pl/read/7596 swetz because like Joe says, that is where CM is swetz so from this chart, we can identify creek at 99.50 swetz and ice at 98.50 Gary_Fullett this is important goopd stuff swetz I was looking for a trade IF I could identify a Wyckoff setup swetz we know 1 type of Wyckoff short setup is to short a LPSY after a SOW swetz we know from Wyckoff, what a SOW should look like swetz it should be one or more wide range bars with increased volme and closes near the bottom of the bar ranges swetz I labeled on this hourly chart what I believed to be a potential SOW BBob left. swetz notice the downward EOM, weak close, and increased volume on that bar BBob joined. swetz this was the widest range bar within this hourly TR swetz a good rule of thumb for looking for a SOW or SOS is that many times it is the widest bar within a TR swetz so after seeing a POTENTIAL SOW swetz I say potential because a shakeout scenario is still possible swetz we know from Wyckoff that it is the LPSY that proves the SOW not the SOW itself swetz this is very important Gary_Fullett it is Gary_Fullett good swetz because it goes back to what is really important in Wyckoff swetz its the REACTIONS from support/resistance swetz and not the move itself that is important swetz from Wyckoff, we also know what characteristics to look for to determine a likely LPSY swetz those characteristics are a narrowing of spread on decreased volume relative to the SOW decline swetz a say relative becausee like Gary says, it is the range and volume in the area that you are in that is important swetz so after seeing potential SOW, I watching this chart swetz and observing each hourly bar as it develops - REAL-TIME swetz I am doing it bar-by-bar the best I can from how David and Gary teach swetz always looking at the range of the bar, the volume, and the position of the close swetz as the rally after the potential SOW develops swetz we can see that the bars become more narrow and volume decreases swetz and we can see that the 3rd bar up has a close off the high swetz this action is telling me that there is a lack of demand swetz which is exactly what we expect to see on a LPSY swetz and the close off the top is telling me that supply is reasserting itself handles and 100$ is where she always fails swetz also notice if you calculated the 1/2 point between the high from today and the low from today swetz this LPSY rally could not quite reach that point swetz which according to Wyckoff tells us that the rally is relatively weak swetz so by putting all of these clues together swetz we could short IBM at 98.50 and put a stop above 99.50 swetz risking only about 1 point to possibly getting 6-7 points swetz according to PnF count handles agree 1000000%%% Gary_Fullett excelent swetz cool handles swetz so that is all I got handles short the pig handles lol JP was very good swetz swetz ::biggrin handles very very good Whit Great analysis kent bravo!!
