User [Joe K /172.138.46.200] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 21:13:29 EDT 2001 I will talk on so spres tonight spreads with a little wyckoff principles :) hi Joe I'll be back shortly Peanut butter ! cool but before I begin my stuff Hey guys any questions? comments? Whats a Hinge mentioned other night complaints :)LOL lol hi Joe I tink a spring is a hinge joe hi Andrew, hows weather down under ? ok Gary lovely, best time of the year yeah I see it on survivor andrew th outback cool yeah, I seen that okay lets talk on spreads was ok why are spreads importantant? in spreads what u must understand that there are correlations between those prices and if they get out of line believe me User [Zack /208.26.139.126] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 21:19:02 EDT 2001 the people who know put them in line sometimes we dont understand those prices relationships and I dont care to know them Hey Zack a roni ! but wathch market action did anyone see the grain action tody? NTR question today y okay zack please ask n Anybody else here using a Sat. connection--rather then a phone line? Seem I have to switch to my other computer to stay connected User [Brian /207.69.0.77] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 21:21:18 EDT 2001 Hmmm, does it work ok, Zack ? Hi guys hi brian hey Brian the other day Tuesday By phone line ,no problem--by Sat. Dish frequent disconect Joe if u watch the action in the grains For any other purpose--Sat works fine wheat rallied and corn brroke near the close but both rallied sharply about 30 minutes to the close and then sold back down thi quick action was desiggned by the cm this volitile action and spreads set up the rally today I have a question? why did wheat lag tody if it was the strongest grain lately? other grains are bearish export too low so why did wheat lag? forget the NEWS wheat was higher by 5 cents yesterday testing demand as the grains were higher people bought wheat Wheat was already near the top/middle of its range--other grains were at the low so today the market started to turn bullish so they bought beans sold wheat on a spread the biught meal sold bean oil to unwind bar spreads does anyone know last weeks close in may beans? Spreading ? In Wheat maybe ? last friday? just a guess how much lower is beans from lasts weeks close today? 3 cents ? 5 cents? 429.25 429 1/4 It's on my other computer Gary :):) any ideas? i think right so we are 1 /2 a cent from last weeks close if we close 1 /2 higher tomorrow we will have a higher weekly close Please not tomoorow is the weekly close and Monday is the months close very very important days progression you MUST chart daily weekly monthly closes wheat is already higher for the week if we close above todays Highs we will have an outside weekly close in wheat last months close was 428 1/2 a lower Low and a higher High right andrew so wheat is leading this market UP so it stopped at resisatnce today as they bought short beans and sold the long wheat positions many times first notice day hello out there markets in grains tend echo echo to bottom lol so monday and tuesday very important days lol Gary use to wok on TV, cue card man Ahhh--the pause that refreshes :) along with lol tomorrow why do grains tend to bottom during first notice day/? because people have to sell thier longs in the lead month and buy the next month out to avoid delievery do you understand this? :) actually i got a call sorry so grains are at critical junctures y here please look at all charts this weeknend what u should all do Still little or no weather premium evident--could get interesting very soon is look at the pricing of all commodities the funds are very very short grains so any strenghth they will rally due to stops but if u look at pricing if the prices are lower as the market goes out further this is because they expect more supply or product they markets Knows this.. that is why they are priced the way they are so nothing is over priced and underpriced it is priced because of what the perception of the market is u will notice that heating oil is higher priced in winter than summer and unleaded gas prices are priced higher in summer than winter and u know the reasons for this so u need to watch each month for its particaulr strenghth or weakness demand do u understand price correlation that way? y the CBOT raised the margin for wheat today? do u know why they did this? Yep--based on "perception" of seasonal demand increas Anticipated higher volatility more volatility markets rally or break on News Sorry can't stay long today, have to go out, will catch up in the archieves, thanks Gary, bye. not beiase of the numbers that are stted BUT what the expectation of what the markewt expects the number to be bye Andrew bye andrew have a great weekend User [Andrew] left forum on Thu Apr 26 21:45:11 EDT 2001 maybe someone knows something :) that is correct about volitity higher margin less spec interest the cm has lots of $$$ so margin increase doesnt affect them between markets in the grains here you need to watch the correlation watch for strenghth vs wekness in them the CM buys the strong ones and sells the weak ones how much did it go up? wheat was up 1 cent today this is a mistake made by many traders dont expect to buy the weakest one and get rewarded all the time Buy strenghth and sell weakness I think Brian was referring to the margin Gary referring to margin, gary U can see this in the Nasdaq vs the s and p it went up by 120 dollars I beleive thanks questions so far? User [RBnCA /216.119.49.19] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 21:49:36 EDT 2001 Not as bad as Platinum a few months ago--margin was over contract full value that is true zack great point u should watch spreads daily monthly weekly they chart the same and u should chart spreads like they are futures any questions on spreads? intermarket spreads ordifferent months Both tom wyckoff principles: chart as many spreads as u can thye do this by letting the price range expnad they do this by price action and volume how does the CM talk to one another using market action? or they do this by keeping the range tight the first meaningful rally when a market is in a down trend Both are very significant to most people this is a short covering rally this is called Prelimninary support but to the other Cms this rally is designed to tell other cms User [Steve /63.113.80.163] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 21:56:21 EDT 2001 that the downtrend move is about to end and for the cm to get ready for the pending selling cliamx to Cm talk on the phone as well and run campaigns? to happen also like to be in company with other cms because the CM though they compete many times answer is YES they do because they can "control the markets " easier do u understand this? questions so far? how do they engineer a sc Could explain cm's talking to each other with spreads and price action a little further Spreads narrow as they get ready to sell? spreads can narrow as well as widen steve they enginner a sellig climax and they jknow the funds are short by knowing the market action is bearish and they know the public is short so when the Cm sees the pick up in volume and price action and the "news: is most bearish than they are today that prices will be higher the Cm knows that months down the raod they Know that the funds get shorter and shorter mentality so they know the publics mantality as the markets makes new lows so they see this bearishness a long postions and they begin to accumulate and buy during this beariness do u understand tom? the cm can assume less risk less amrgin y steve I didnt forget u by spreading in the direction that they want to be as the trend of th market is the other way this is a way they they can accumalte with little risk in a bearish market very quietly to the cm they can put on a alrge postion with little risk and little margin and the bear spreads dont make money when u see a market make new lows this is the way u can see that the CM is acculating maRket because in a bearish amrket bear spreads should work right? this is also a tip off to other cms and to u market when bull spreads work in a down market they can accumalte lightly this should be a red flag for u since the cm knows that it takes time for cause to build he can bull spread in a down market biding time so when the News turns he can profit so u need to watch that correction and spreads do u understand how they do this? no n I will give an example right? being long may wheat short july wheat is a bullish spread may wheat is at 300 lets say k well it is the spread is at 10 cents right? and july wheat is at 310 y wheat breaks may falls to 295 good night, have a good weekend. User [Brian] left forum on Thu Apr 26 22:12:51 EDT 2001 what is the spread now? and july falls to 303 so the spread narrowed by 2 cents 303 minus 295 8 cents right? But the market went down and the bull spread made 2 ents so the market went down Somebody still made money this is an example cents? right? normally may should fall more than july do u see this? this is how the CM can acculate a long postion in a bearish amrket of a bull spread making money in a down amrket do u understand this? this is how they can control the spread butt july fell more of course the poeple who were long may short july made 2 cents gotcha. thanks a lot to keep an eye on does this make sense Mr steve? Mr - lol yes there is but this is the first tip off alot to watch of the cm buying in a down market he makes money as the trend is bearish being long I want to talk on how the CM can control the trading range will be re-reading this me too, tom u can always call or email me if u want 877-306-7100 toll free riskybiz99@aol.com how does a cm control the range? well one would expect volume and price action to correlate to one another lets take beans as an example lets say the average volume in beans is 100k and the market has been going down and the range is about 10 cents the CM can make this trading range smaller this is called " the shortening of the downward thrust as the market is going down one would expect more volume and wider price action this would show supply or selling in a down trend this is normal market behavior right? in a bearish amrket y now let say beans have a 4 cent range and the volume is 150 K as the market is 2 cents lower for the day? so u have a shorter range and who do u think is controlling the range? who do u think is buying this increased volume larger voluem right why does he do this? whoa the CM CM why doesnt he let the market fall? and the , amrket is going lower he does this because he is long he doesnt want this to happen and the tecnical picture will become more bearish the funds will sell more because if he does so he doesnt want the market to induce more selling so he buys vigursly he will rally the market becaus ehe know shortly and he doesnt have to over come a sharp break so he controls the range Buy buying this is called a shortening of the downward thrust the same is true of a market that rallies this is called a shotening of the upward thrust do u understand this? same on secondary test? do u know why the cm wants to do this sometimes is like this generally the secondary test exhausts the selling on the climax he lets the market fall it can occur within a trading range doesnt have to be on a retest is this why the price action seems to be delayed behind heavy v? but the shortening of the thrust generaly on a retest the volume is Lighter but the secondary test doesnt have to be a shortening of the thrust and price action is smaller no not really price action and volume generally correlate but when they dont correlate that a trend may be changing at least short term u must relieze That makes a lot of sense I hope so steve I think wyckoff makes sense and is the way to look at markets :) User [Chuck /64.199.213.2] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 22:36:47 EDT 2001 is the way the cm control price action so the shorting of the thrusts User [lmarsh /209.172.205.154] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 22:36:48 EDT 2001 because he doesnt want the tech picture to get out of hand and induce the funds to trade opposite the way hs postion is and it happens beause the funds sell or buy and the cm is ready to go the other way the way he is postion because he knows hi all so he supports he postion the market is ready User [Charlie /64.199.212.241] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 22:37:59 EDT 2001 Hey lmarsh nd if he lets the amrket get out of control he Must fight the funds if you dont understand this please reread the log u will understand my brain is full tonight, Gary. Gotta run. Thanks. hi lamrsh hi charlie hi lmarsh me Chuck locked up User [Steve] left forum on Thu Apr 26 22:39:32 EDT 2001 okay I will leave the discussion open to any thoughts as i wont go over more principles are we lookong at a sc in wheat? any questions ? on anything tonight? that would be great but probably too late wheat is in a trading range and we just retested support in the daily chart good :) I need too check the markets before I come to class. we had fairly little price action today on high volume yes rb that would be great someone is absorbing that v G? yes could pull back herer here great class as always, Gary. Thanks. night all. any other questions? nite Jairo wheat does not have to break its range this year just because we are excited, y? nite Jairo gn jairo User [Jairo] left forum on Thu Apr 26 22:48:07 EDT 2001 nope true let market action dictate direction it hasnt shown strenghth yet night jairo above 273 i think this is very constructive Gary, you mentioned wheat in a trading range, corn looks the same. But on wheat/corn spread wheat was doing well, but now it's stalled out,....resting on trendline. corn is weaker than wheat User [tom /172.168.80.40] joined forum on Thu Apr 26 22:50:13 EDT 2001 so I think u will see wht corn spread move out oops, forget that last post,.. i had the spread on intraday...... my error,.......don't kill me Zack!!!!!! :) so wheat to me should be more bullish than corn thought somthing did'nt look just right,......
