Weekly uptrend line from week of 12-23 to 3-3-00 intact as well as monthly very good.... seems like a gathering of numbers from 226-229 significance if any? Jimbo we are discuss ing may corn hi jimbo hi all I think that the grains are in a trading range and that we all like to get excited when we are long ONce we leave the 230 for good it will seem as an area of accumulation. and the market moves higher so if tis area in grains is allarger term accumaulation then the pullbacks to support of the trading range should be bought thank you Gary and Amos the market is doing alot of work in this area and the fact that the market made a new high at the 241 level User [Peggy /206.173.161.102] joined forum at Thu Mar 23 21:16:02 EST 2000 notice the volume getting lower & lower on this pullback in corn? : ) shows the amrket has strenghth or demand evening, all hey Peg that is what we should see lmarsh hi peggy the volume on the pullback lighter than the rally we have seen demand in crn by both price action and volume so selling or supply should be lighter hi fibo missed you earlier sorry it's sinking in Gary! : ) yeah me too :) ,..the buisness plan, recognizing the market action. adds dimension to my larry williams thinking hi Peg do you follow Larry williams jimbo? hi, Fibo. Mr weis I am honored to have you here can you stay abit tonight and be our honored guest My pleasure, Steve, but I'm at a loss for who you are. Amos, I heard about it from a friend. i invited David in a friend that attends this chat room? It's dhweis@bellatlantic.net Just an admirer that also lives in memphis well Mr weis if you dont mind can you talk about wyckoff a bit tonight any topic on the bonds it looks like the volume has declined and it has had a shortening of the upper thrust is it possible that you can attend outr class in the future well, where is the large resistanc e in bonds david? Mr weis can you speak on wyckoff tonight any topic we all would be honored I'm trying to respond, but am having some difficulty. We all do Folks this is becoming a somewhat dramatic nite Regarding Wyckoff, I rarely look for the model of PS, SC, AR, etc. I focus on the logic of the bar chart with emphasis on spread, position of close, volume, proximity to trend linex, channels, axis lines, etc. -> tell clas who he is I also pay attention to my intuition more and more. In his autobiography, Wyckoff said the purpose of his Rollo Tape was to teach intuition. What happened to the classical terms? disappered? I firmly believe this as well.... my intuiton No, they are just too slow in today's markets for the most part Are you talking intraday trading mostly? yes. I think intuition is an educated trader seeing things before he realizes it. or an uneducated person losing money But do you ever go back to basics? I think intuition is the result of knowledge and experience. You called me a year or so from Turkey Right. Mr weis is there a market today that we as a class should watch or a group that looks interesting to you David, let me introduce you ok? I tried to answer you Gary. Okay amos Considering the fact that I videotaped today the Pope in Yad Vashen (the holocause museum} and I cried while doing this-- :) it is a great honor to introduce the "Pope" opf Wyckoff. I doube that there is a man alive today that understands Wyckoff better than David Weis. He was my mentor. (He is OLD) Jesus, Amos older than ole' Amos? Welcome Mr. Weis Gary, I am watching the possible spring on monthly cocoa chart and he is also probably the best Eiliottician around. Now you take these two schools togetehr he was my mentor too and what do you get? Mr Weis I have heard many great things about you from amos and I am honored to have you join us Ideas about monthly charts are abstractions. Something concrete needs to appear User [Lavona /207.50.1.172] joined forum at Thu Mar 23 22:06:28 EST 2000 User [sal /206.175.236.6] joined forum at Thu Mar 23 22:06:28 EST 2000 I have attempted to talk wyckoff in a chat room for almost 4 yrs Pleased to meet you hi Lavona Hello everyone wb sal on the daily. The 25% increase in price recently is a bullish change in behavior. hey Lavona, wb sal PURDUE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Amos, You and Fibo were some of my best and favorite students now i have a sore throat again from screamin:( F---g Boilermakers thank you David Amos, that was your state or school once dont mention it I spent 4 years in Lafayette me too amos...I am only 40 miles from lafayette Iwas a boilermaker and i resent that amos you're both very fortunate mr Weis we have this chat room Monday thur thursday nights and we attempt to understand wyckoff David, I am sitting here night after night pounding the significance of long term charts and you say they are not so significnat? Well, it's a good endeavor, but where are the charts I just spoke about spring on monthly cocoa Frank, "am " not "was" :) I still keep a book of monthly and yearly cash charts by hand so how are they esoteric? was, I am retired, and they did away with the job. Mr. Weis, please relate the significance of those to our studies. k You need to know the big picture. Mr weis we tracked cocoa from its lows and we able to be long this market Last year's low on cash yearly soybeans is a spring or tso of 27 year trading range amos pointed this out as well we have been discussing the grains over the past few months You say you were able to be long. good yes sir keep talking beans...please beans beans beans I focus on identifying support and resistance Well, re beans, the cash rallied from last year's low at 3.87 please continue Mr Weis while he is gone, tell us who he is Amos He is my teacher fibo or amos would you like to answer that? I learned from amos he is my teacher User [sagtnicht /151.203.22.235] joined forum at Thu Mar 23 22:17:07 EST 2000 and by myself welcome back welcome back Mr weis welcome back welcome I'm sorry, but I had some error and had to start over Mr Weis . can you elaborate about the beans? From last year's low at 3.87 in cash to this week's high at 5.12 is a spring, but it will probably be retested in some manner cash beans mad e a high this week??? I'm wrong. It was last Friday Amos I still use the National paper and write out daily cash prices from WSJ And they say that classics are dead is it alright to use central illinois cash price instead? did you ever get all of the prices cut out? :-) Any cash price is all right as long as consistent data. Yes fibo thx good! Cash is the easiest way to overcome the concatenation problem Is that anything like transcendentalism lol Mr weis would you recommend that cash should be charted on the daily weekly and monthly charts? in a beaucolic way I like cash prices because there are no aberrations caused by contract changes but you have to remember I also have used Elliott Wave and cycles do you find the cash more accurate? makes sense and cash is helpful in those area Do you feel that wyckoff needs to be combined with Elliot wave? or can wyckoff be on its own? The cash is okay for big picture but no volume. As I told Fibo today, I hate these Elliott eyes bucolic :) Wyckoff is best. On its own. i know what you mean That is what I always felt please explain Go gary, tell her amos mentioned that he felt volume is distorted by vendors do you have opinion on this? we just put the volume off of the weekly's & monthlys on our cash chart Amos always tried to figure out who or what is behind everything I feel wyckoff is the BEST an doesnt need to be combined I agree I now and that is where he and I disagree I grew up with wyckoff in my trading career from the volume combining would seem to lead to overinfo paralysis and drew histograms daily by hand on volume vs price action There was a good article about Bill Gross the bond trader who went long on when I noticed heavy volume at a price I knew that was a signifiacnt price January 12. Look on hourly at mid-day surge in vol. But we did not need to know I agree Jimbo what do you mean you hate these elliott eyes? about his operations and deduction that bonds would rally because of shortage, etc. he runs the PIMCO fund for bonds No more on Elliott, please ok i'll explain later sherri ok thx do you use fibonacci Does anyone here look at the euro Yes I watch it daily David, most people in this class are still beginners. We're all learning We are the 101 class of Wyckoff I have been learning for 19 years and I am beginner I am having difficulty figuring the Euro out vol/price-wise who teaches the advanced class you? amos the position is open!!! Do you ever have problems for students to solve, like a past chart situation In early march the volume was heavy when the makrket made new lows but the prce action was positive The advanced class is not taught yet. the close that is amos & gary are both good teachers ditto yes Mr weis I would be honored if you will teach the advanc class I wouldn't know how to do it on a computer I am just a student Mr weis we can do this in this chat room You can call me David just like we are doing now okay But we need charts Gary sends those weekly yes gary & amos have told us too look at charts and tell what we see I email charts to people I could write in data for you to plot on a chart and then ask what you see gary sends charts every tuesday I'm not too good with e-mailing attachments but Amos will show me, I am sure I am poor at it too but mt partner can send them Well, maybe it's a possiblity if you tell me what charts you would like to discuss I would be honored to send them great! Well for teaching, it might be better to send part of a chart I want to get the wyckoff message out and then put data on screen or will that work and for all of us to be good traders I'll talk with you about it but I really defer to Amos as a teacher I will try to send the charts the way that you would like them to be sent amos does a great job with wyckoff thoery Well let's talk about it on the phone. How do I reach you though his humor is unusual as you well know I know yes he does me David? hey, we like Amos' humor--unique Yes do not talk behind my back, please toll free 877 306-7100 I have a knife at your back amos :) amos has an uzzi but I love u oh oh lol I would be honored to talk with you I work from my home watching markets 24 hours a day so call naytime not downtown anymore? peggy, he put it down for the pope Okay. It was like a Rolce Royce. We had a large IBM frame computer and we wrote all the programs in Fortrun. OUr charts were unbelievalbele. Then when Mr Freeborg got tired of the shenainagns of some of the brokers in Florida amos this is the first time u r speechless and Houston he sold COnti to Refco for 10 cents ono the dollar--It was beneath Continental Grain Company to be smearched with such lowly acts. The whole computer department was burnt to ashes. It was lilke the burning of the library ioh Alexandria in So much quality material was thrown away. It is disgusting. SIL such is lif life But even life magazine is closing David was an English professor before commodities so what happened after that? We all went to the seashore ("Never on Sunday" with Melina Mercury) Mefiterranean? dit famous movie. back to the story, Amos Then David went to work for Prechter for a while I went to CHicago to be the Senior Technical Analyst for a sinking ship and what's hisname from Refco (I am suppressing) did not llike my face David continued to write books (with Hutson and the guy from SMI) and is trading bonds for a living (I think, ask fibo) yes This was quite a shocking eveining for me he was wanting to get in touch with you again amos That is amazing a man needs to b surprised once in a while amos and a woman too happy birthday amos :-) :) tks I take it gary was taken aback, also, huh??? I guess How long is he? He called himself sagtnicht--the one who does not say how old is he? Deutsche? He also had some seminar video tapes at one time that explains Wyckoff & Elliott nite steve nite Fibo, does it sound as though he uses some Wyckoff but not all of it? He is writing a book on Wyckoff i don't know when it will be done he uses all of Wyckoff.. Didn't he say he didn't look for SC, BC, etc that is why he said it is hard to get Elliot count out of the picture he uses them but he thinks the markets are so much faster now that he looks at what all he mentioned earlier. He got long cocoa on that bottom because of im on a call Wyckoff where do I find cash on beans? Peggy we take the wall street journal also and get them out of there every day and chart them by hand? stay til last gary and all will be on log. or a spreadsheet? i will User [sherri] left forum at Thu Mar 23 23:23:29 EST 2000 we just put the range on our charting software.every day we also put the weekly volume on it our cash data goes back to dec. 91 you can enter data into your program to create a chart? yes on the ensign k we can enter data by hand and vol. we name it something else so the other charts don't mess with it gotto go and enter data on my 1040 (ugh) nite all that is when David told us to keep the cash charts.. what significant do you use it for? nite Sal nite sal you can compare it to the other weeklys.. nite sal User [sal] left forum at Thu Mar 23 23:27:13 EST 2000 the thing is it is always continous and not affected by contract changes wow it is not affected by contract changes k it takes a while to learn the Wyckoff.. i am still learning. Steve, have you read Hutson's book? David told me to take a year and study it thanks fibo and gary, good night to all nite eric nite eric User [eric] left forum at Thu Mar 23 23:29:34 EST 2000 Gary , mention the post board to david as that format is better for essays that book were articles that appeared in Stocks & Commodities magazines yes peggy finished it this week. The written page is valuable, and easier to remember than here Peggy i will get back to you on your e-mail thank you, Fibo. :-) that book only made sense to me because of the foundation laid by gary. David told you to take a year and learn Wyckoff? right, Steve; I found that true also he said it would take that long to grasp it all. and did it take that long? that was around 90 or 91 yes and i am still learning.. amos & gary have really helped me refresh on it and brought up many points that have helped what markets do you trade mainly? i hope u r learning fibo and i learn from u im sorry im on the phone mostly grains peggy..something else if i see it no problem gary My question this evening was the volume numbers. With stocks I see numbers in the millions but Peggy it sounds like you are learning this well with a front month or one back I probably only see double digit numbers that fluctuate by 20 or 30. Fibo, it is the application and independence?? that is difficult, to be creative with info your chart legent should tell you if 100 means 100 thousand etc the volume on the stock tells the same thing when I download say cocoa it will say volume 1 Peggy if you are trading any commodity..you have to have the total vol. of all contracts added together.. Gary says otherwise. You don't mean the individual volume for say, July or June like amos said..it is the pits to get good volume the volume on the front month will be the most active.. right but when it gets close to first notice day it will go down and the next month will have the best volume.. y nite ya'll.. I'm really going this time :) just like yesterday the may wheat had vol. of 11,500 nite, Steve and Jul. had 52,00 excuse me 5,200 User [SteveF] left forum at Thu Mar 23 23:39:39 EST 2000 Fibo, in July corn for yesterday my volume says 96, no zeros, no thousands, juste 96 o.k. it means 9,600 may has 27,384 I didn't know that. Are you looking at total volume or individual our software adds total corn volume of all contracts and puts total vol. on each contract. so if I downloaded one month with total volume it might be sufficient? David told us to always look at total. i don't know what you are downloading from Peggy all my charts would need to be evolved to have total volume on them Gary's charts doesn't have total volume and he does all right with them I download from a service into a metastock format that I put in supercharts the new Ensign software for windows just has the contract vol. not total. that is why i haven't gone to it. i will probably be forced to..because they don't even sell the one i have anymore after a while they probably will not support it any longer. Supercharts is like that that is true Peggy newer is not always better. that is why my husband keeps hand build charts with correct volume on them David did not answer the question concerning fib numbers that's amazing, fibo and if he has to we can get the prices & volume out of wall streets again and add it up i think that is when he was having isp problems does he use them? he used to in conjunction with Elliott? peggy as he said tonite about the Elliott eyes.. if you have learned it your brain will see a 5 or a 3 when you look at a chart and there can be so many counts in Elliott that you have to "turn off the Elliott eyes" and look at the Wyckoff. interesting. I better head for bed, folks.
